JoAnn McMillion, Assoc. Pastor

Pastor JoAnn is truly one who has put her hands to the plough and is not looking back.  Her heart is fixed and her mind is made up to go all the way with Jesus.  Because of Pastor Jo’s desire for more of God and to be used by Him, the Lord opened a door to connect her with a powerful, sold-out Woman of God, Apostle Joyce Carter.

Pastor JoAnn has served as the Facilitator for “The Women Who Pray” Lakewood area.   She is currently one of the Boot Camp for Christ Spiritual Warfare Training Instructors.  Attended and completed the Midnight Cry Intercessory Prayer Course through Spoken Word Ministries in Jacksonville FL, and is currently the Intercessory Prayer Team Leader at UTRM  Training Center.  She has served as a Sunday School Teacher, Head of the Women’s Dept., Finance Leader, and on the Board of Directors at her previous Church.   She has been a part of several mission teams who traveled both national and internationally to share the Good News and teach, train, and equip many in Spiritual Warfare Training. 

The Word of God says, “…in all thy getting, get understanding”, and Pastor Jo enjoys teaching and sharing the Word of God, and helping others to get that understanding of God’s Word and apply it to their daily lives.

Married to her husband Gary for over 46 years and still counting,  and the parents of  two.  Pastor JoAnn is retired from Pierce County after 20 years of service.

Elizabeth L. Jackson, Youth/Young Adult Pastor

In a search for her destiny and calling in life, Pastor Liz came to Sisters In Action (SIA) Ministries over 15 years ago. She quickly began to see the hand of God move upon her life. She became actively involved in the Spiritual Warfare Boot Camp Training School. She is very adapt at leading others through the plan of Salvation and casting out evil spirits.

When Upon the Rock Ministry (UTRM)  was birthed forth, Pastor Liz began to move in the Dance Ministry. She is the dance instructor for UTRM. She not only teaches those who come to learn to worship in dance, but also how to keep their vessels clean to be used by the Lord in worship unto Him. She has been called to minister to the nations. She has traveled to the Dominican Republic where she taught dance to the youth, and to the Philippines to spread the Gospel.

She teaches  UTRM’s Newcomers’ Class, and is also one of the teachers of UTRM Discipleship Training Class.  As the Youth and Young Adult Pastor, Pastor Liz plans and oversees the youth and young adult activities, and fundraisers.    Pastor Liz is Director of UTRM Finance Department and also a part of the Altar Ministry. Pastor Liz tirelessly works in the creation of banners for the church and the sewing of flags for the dancers. She is blessed with the gift of giving. Many in and outside the ministry have been blessed by her generosity. She truly is blessed to be a blessing to others.

Married to her husband Cleatious for over 46 years and counting.  She has one son and daughter (her daughter-in-law) and two grandchildren. She has recently retired from Pierce County after 25 years of employment.

Beatrice Bennett, Prophtess

 Prophetess Bea, already rooted and grounded in the Word of God, became a part of the Sisters In Action  Ministries (SIA) 16 years ago in her quest to go to the next level in Kingdom building.  She became trained and equipped in Spiritual Warfare, Intercessory Praying, Laying on of Hands on the sick, and Deliverance of those who are bound by casting out evil spirits. She discovered her calling in the prophetic.  When Upon The Rock Ministry (UTRM) was birthed forth, Prophetess Bea put her hand to the plough and began working as part of the Praise Team singing praises as unto the Lord, and helping out the Dance Ministry when needed.  She served as Interim Secretary, a part of the hospital ministry,  and Greeter to those visiting the church.  She worked as an Usher and assisted the Hospitality Team. She was a part of the “Midnight Cry”   Intercessory Prayer Team.  Prophetess also served as a Sunday School teacher to UTRM’s Rock Kids (ages 6 – 12).  Prophetess Bea created UTRM’s monthly newsletter, “The Solid Rock Newsletter.”     Prophetess Bea traveled to the Philippines as part of the SIA mission trip where over 1,000 people were taught and ministered to.

In her previous church, Prophetess Bea set on the Board of Directors, and served as Secretary and Interim Secretary, and was a Greeter.  She hosted Bible study in her home, and was a part of the Nursing Home Outreach Ministry.  She co-produced that church’s monthly newsletter.

Prophetess Bea was the Federal Way Facilitator for “Women Who Pray.”  Once a month, this ministry went forth in a public restaurant praying for the owners, workers, and their families.  She prayed with and over the patrons while witnessing to the unsaved.

Prophetess Bea was married to her late  husband, Glenn, for over 32 years.  They have two sons, one daughter-in-law and six grandchildren.  She recently retired from the public school system as a Restorative Practices/Discipline Coordinator and Para-educator for 23 years.  She was a co-faculty advisor for her school’s Black Student Union.  She was also employed as a Middle School Track and Field Head Girls’ Coach for 11 years.  She is an avid reader and enjoys fellowshipping with God’s people. 

Kathy Bush, Minister

Minister Kathy became a part of the Sisters In Action Ministry (SIA) over 15 years ago.  Minister Kathy became trained and equipped to stomp on the devil’s head.  When Upon The Rock   Ministry (UTRM) was birthed forth, she became an active member and leader from the start.  She  began to move in the ministry of helps as she began to use her wonderful smile to meet and greet  everyone as they walked through the door of UTRM. 

 Minister Kathy served as a greeter at her previous church.  She truly is “Mrs. Hospitality.”  She is very efficient in the planning and organizing of the menus for all of UTRM’s events.  She is a tireless worker for God’s Kingdom.  She supports and assists the activities planner, and participates in all fundraisers. She served as site leader/teacher at UTRM’s Summer Camp.    She is an awesome prayer warrior and intercessor as she stays upon the watchman’s wall.  She is one of the teachers for UTRM Discipleship Training Class.

 Minister Kathy and her longtime mate and husband Bernard have been together for over 32 years and still counting.  She has 6 adult children and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is currently retired from Tacoma Public Schools District #10. Minister Kathy prays God’s continued Grace and Mercy upon her family and herself.     She gives God the Glory for all things.

Jamarkus Springfield,

Jamarkus Springfield-Worles is a humble Christian, husband, teacher, and coach. He is originally from Memphis, Tennessee but has rooted himself in the greater Seattle area.

God led Jamarkus to Eastern Oregon University in 2010 where he studied English and Business, acquiring a Bachelors of Arts in English and a Masters in Teaching,  before graduating in 2015. Currently, God is allowing Jamarkus to use his gifts outside of the classroom as a teacher of the word of God, a community visionary, football and track coach, Young Life Leader, and Black Student Union advisor.

Jamarkus’s goal is to live a prosperous life deemed holy and clean by God with hopes that this type of life inspires people to do the same.
